Feature act: STEVE PLATER & THE DIRTY BLUES

STEVE PLATER & THE DIRTY BLUES is fronted by multi award-winning guitarist/vocalist Steve Plater – recognised as one of Australia's finest multi-instrumentalists and renowned for his wickedly deft slide guitar playing with expertise across a range of stringed instruments. If you like your blues raw and dirty, with stinging slide and raspy vocals
 sounding like he’s seen and done it all, then Steve Plater is just the ticket!

With a music performance and recording career spanning well over 3 decades, Steve is best known as a longstanding founding member of the crowd-pleasing, beloved blues band SALTY DOG.  Steve’s personal musical journey in recent years has led to the release of two albums, ‘Once in a Blue Moon’ and ‘Steve Plater and The Dirty Blues’ – showcasing a vocal style which draws inspiration from the soulful sounds of Blind Willie Johnson.

Steve has performed on the same bill as legendary acts B.B. King, Tony Joe White, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Little Charlie & The Night Cats, along with other international headliners, and is also founder and director of the successful
 Great Southern Cigar Box Guitar Festival, held in Ballarat Victoria for the past five years which has become a feature on the regional music scene.

Fellow multi award-winning artist and longtime co-founding ‘Salty Dog’ bandmate MARION TURNER is on board in this venture, performing on tea-chest bass, harmonica and vocals, and with MICHAEL SPRAKE on percussion.
