Feature act: JUSTIN YAP TRIO

JUSTIN YAP is a session guitarist who currently performs in the touring band lineups of RAMBAL and JUSTIN YAP TRIO. Justin has spent the last decade cutting his teeth with some of the best Blues artists in Australia, sharing the stage and touring with the likes of Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking, Lachy Doley, Lloyd Spiegel, Cass Eager, Jesse Valach (2016 MBAS Blues Challenge winner), and Frank Sultana (2023 IBC winner).

Spending most of his time performing with Rambal, Justin has graced the stage at some of the Australia’s most iconic venues and festivals, including The Corner Hotel, Northcote Social Club, Queenscliff Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach (QLD), Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival, Girrakool Blues Festival (NSW), Mitchell Creek Blues & Rock Festival (QLD), Winter Blues Festival (VIC/NSW), among countless others. The Justin Yap Band won Group of the Year at the 2017 Australian Blues Music Awards.

With his new trio, Justin takes on the role of frontman playing the music he grew up lovin, performing their take on Blues music, drawing influences from New Orleans Funk, Blues Rock, and the giants of the Blues who came before.
