Feature act: KALIOPI & THE BLUES MESSENGERS

KALIOPI & THE BLUES MESSENGERS officially launched at the Glenmaggie Blues & Roots Festival early in 2022, for a vibrant debut. Since then, the band have gone on to support and perform alongside local blues icons Geoff Achison, Ian Collard, and Jimi Hocking as well as regularly performing the blues circuit around Melbourne.

Drawing from the great Delta blues tradition of powerful blueswomen, Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers have just released their debut single 'When the Levee Breaks' to rave reviews with national airplay and support. They are about to roll out their second single 'Troublin Blues' – an original track from their forthcoming debut studio album.

Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers have honed in on the works of Memphis Minnie as a fundamental inspiration, along with a line of other influential blueswomen and bluesmen emerging pre WW2. The band have developed a unique textural sound backing Kaliopi's powerful, soulful vocal – using the fretless bass like a sousaphone, with flavours of early Dixieland piano, weaving clarinet blues licks and Delta Blues guitar over swinging groove shuffles.

In between band shows, Kaliopi has been jamming and headlining solo at blues jams including, Melbourne Blues Collective, Blues Roulette, Eastern Blues Association, 90 Miles Blues Club, Hume Blues Club, Elwood Blues Club, Stingo Blues and Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society.

9:00pm - 11:00pm: Blues Jam Session

Attendees are encouraged to pre-book for table seating. Please 'BOOK' a single or multiple (Group) ticket below. To assist our kitchen's catering, when booking, please note if you plan to order a meal on the night.
