Feature act: VOODOO PREACHERS

VOODOO PREACHERS were conceived and formed as a band lockdown project through 2020, bringing together an all-star lineup in a shed outside of Maffra, Victoria. In a short space of time, and once they hit the gig circuit, this new lineup have proven themselves to be a top sought-after act, performing ant pubs, clubs and festivals through regional Victoria and Melbourne. Their popularity as a feature act at last month's Echuca Winter Blues Fest has secured their place as must-see local blues band.

Featuring members of the multi-award-winning Amnesia Blues Band (2016/2019 MBAS Band Of The Year winners; four-time MBAS Challenge finalists; Top 5 “Most Creative Song of the Year” 2019 from Ben Vee’s Roadhouse Blues,) The Blues Lizards and The Strzelecki Stringbusters, The Voodoo Preachers are led by songwriter PAUL BUCHANAN – vocals, NING HOPKINS – guitar, MARC LEYSHAN – guitar, JOHN WERNER – bass and STUART ANDERSON – drums. The Voodoo Preachers' return to the MBAS stage will also feature an extended lineup, with the fabulous showmanship and talent of PHIL COYNE on harp. Don't miss it!

The Voodoo Preachers' debut 2020 album, Testimony, went straight to #3 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Chart, and their newest album Live at Moechella 2021 has remained in the ABARAC Top 25 charts for three months since its release. In 2021 the band were also shortlisted for Music Victoria’s Best Blues Band award.
