Feature act: LEIGH SLOGGETT TRIO 

LEIGH SLOGGETT TRIO's earthy songs and commanding style draw from the diverse foundations of blues with influences form early American masters like Robert Johnson and Memphis Minnie through to contemporary artists such as Ry Cooder and Dave Alvin. Theirs is a laid-back, yet intense musical force born when authenticity meets refined talent. Frontman LEIGH SLOGGETT’s evocative timbres and soulful touch on guitar and lap slide, is reinforced by the double bass of CHRIS RISELEY, and drums of MATT CRUMP, to give this band their unique rootsy sound.

Leigh has toured internationally and performed consistently for over two decades, building a reputation as a unique song writer and guitarist. His 2022 release, ‘Wait for the Change’, went on to reach number 1 on the U.S. base 'Roots Music Report's Top 50 Australian Albums Chart’, and number 10 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Chart. The Trio formed in 2019 and were finalists in the 2023 MBAS Blues Challenge.
