THE RELATIVES were formed by bassist Wayne Earl after a deep dive into the many fabulous but unknown Rhythm and Blues Hits of the 60’s that were never locally released. Wayne's love of early R'n'B first came to the fore after Renee Geyer tuned him to the great Bobby Bland with her great renditions of “If Lovin you is Wrong” and “Got to Use My Imagination”. Calling on the skills of his old side kick Mark Lowrie on guitar, The Relatives were formed with the talented James Arnold on vocals and the substantial "bag of grooves" that is Greg Hynes on drums. Musically, it's not the band's intention to try to replicate the sound of those classic old R'n'B 45’s, but rather, extend the musical reach to a broader audience and beyond vintage R'n'B fans. As they progress, the band are continually refining, evolving and introducing original material to their repertoire.
